Wow, big surprise. Finally I
started reading their bio.
Thats how I found out why
the cd stops playing in your
cd-rom drive while working
on your Apple. It's a
cd-rom! 17 tracks and one
video clip called:
Speellumaf and
Stoppuminjecdromla. (Playit
and Putitinyourcdrom).
White Wolf's artist P.W.B.
and Samp B released already
two cd's. Hondsdolheid
(Rabbi's) and Bij Nacht en
Ontij (hard to translate: in
the darkest night en most
terrible weather). Since
their first cd they enforced
the White Wolf crew with
C.MC.
White Wolf, the name is
English and they rap in
their native tongue: Dutch.
In The Netherlands often
called Nederhop by those
people who think that HipHop
is in the English language.
So how would we call MC
Solars music, Frenchhop?
On Hardkornography they have
for the first time a nice
grown sound. Experimenting
with the beats and the flow.
And nice to hear they got
more and more musically
influence.
They've got very different
subjects in their lyrics.
Some familiar, others very
strange. You hear them using
their own roots. Vliegende
Hollander (Flying dutchman)
is one of the best songs. In
their vocabulary they are
searching for original words
and in their metaphores
they're locking down old
Dutch sayings. Most of them
are about ships and the
(too) many water that we got
in The Netherlands.
The songs contain serious
lyrics. They are very social
minded. You will not find
ghetto or street drama. Nor
racial matters. That earns a
compliment. They talk about
what they know and not about
what they don't know.
A nice album. If you
understand Dutch it will
even be better.
